Mike Vrklan Relays
A small crew for the Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey track and field team traveled to Arlington Friday for the rescheduled Mike Vrklan Relays.
No team scores were kept during the meet, as the meet features several events not in a typical meet, including a handful of co-ed events.
MLAC’s boys were led by Cooper Evers, who placed first in the 1,600-meter run (4:39.38). Joseph Torres placed fourth in the 1,600 (4:46.74).
For the girls, Andrea Peterson placed third in the discus (78-6). Emily Johnson was fourth in the 3,200 (14:12.36).
MLAC’s team of Abigail Beyer, Julia Nachreiner, Cameron Meyer and Lane Stamp added a third-place finish in the mixed 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay (1:28.17).
BEA Meet
Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin placed fourth in both the girls and boys competitions at the Blue Earth Area Meet, held Friday in Blue Earth.
MCWBO’s girls scored 87 points. BEA won the meet with 145.
The MCWBO boys scored 64 points. United South Central/Alden-Conger won the meet with 160.
The Maverick girls were led by Evelynn Christenson, who won the 800-meter run (2:38.23). Mylee Larson won the shot put (32-0). Sophia Peterson won the discus (92-0). Inga Olson was second in the 1,600 (6:12.39). Jaylee Hansen was second in the high jump (4-8). Hannah Cole took second in the long jump (13-11).
For the boys, Lixon Forsberg was second in the long jump (18-3½). Kane Wohlhuter took second in the pole vault (9-0).
