GOLF: Red Rock Conference meet held; Eagles rained out

The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls and Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys claimed top honors at the first of four Red Rock Conference league meets, held Thursday. The girls played at Fulda while the boys played at Mt. Lake.

For the girls, RTR won the meet with a 377. Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey was third with a 394. Red Rock Central took fifth with a 452.

For the boys, HLOF/WWG won the meet with a 335. MLAC was second with a 336. RRC was eighth with a 411.

MLAC’s girls were led by Nevaeh Ott, who placed fourth, individually, with a 90. Reagan Pedersen added a 95, followed by Danika Gohr with a 104 and Amiyah Oakland with a 105.

RRC’s girls were led by Jorga Brown, who shot a 97. Josie Timm shot a 106, followed by Abby Evans with a 109 and Celia Vogel with a 140.

For the boys, MLAC eighth-grader Micah Fast was the day’s medalist, shooting a 79. Brayden Oakland added an 83, followed by Maxton Fast with an 84 and Aidan Olson with a 90.

RRC was led by Finn Batalden with an 86. Max Erickson shot a 95, followed by Henry Stavnes and Jackson Radmaker each with a 115.

Eagles, Huskies cancelled

Windom and Jackson County Central got one hole played before a thunderstorm rolled through Jackson Thursday, prompting the cancellation of Thursday’s scheduled meet.
