Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey hammered out 17 hits, including five extra-base hits, on its way to a 17-2 rout over Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Thursday at Heron Lake.
The Wolverines got on the board in the top of the second on a three-run triple from Thomas Hesse and a Khalid Fontanez RBI double.
The Wolverines then blew the game open in the third, sending 17 hitters to the plate to score nine runs. Ram Vasquez hit a two-run single, Landon Simon hit an RBI double, Hesse and Khalid Fontanez hit RBI singles, Jason Wright hit a two-run double and Alden Klassen and Vasquez hit RBI singles.
The Wolverines got their final runs in the fifth. Wright hit an RBI single and Nolan Peters added a bases-clearing double.
Hesse, Fontanez and Vasquez each had three hits in the win.
Simon went the distance on the mound, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five.

Adrian/Ellsworth held Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in check Thursday, as the Dragons cruised to an 11-1 win at Adrian.
AE took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, but the Falcons got on the board in the third. Jonah Skarupa led off with a single, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a Mason Warner grounder.
That was the only hit and run for the Falcons in the game, as RRC/WWG went down in order in four of the five innings.
The Dragons plated a run in the bottom of the third, scored six in the fourth and ended the game with a pair of bases-loaded walks in the fifth.
Braxton Weber took the pitching loss for the Falcons, allowing eight runs on five hits. He walked four and struck out two.
