After less than a year, the Windom Economic Development Authority will again search for a new director.
At last week’s meeting, the Windom City Council accepted the resignation from EDA Director Sonya Wilt.
In talking with the council on her resignation, Wilt noted, “When I was hired, I made everyone aware that I did own a business outside of the city. That business has since taken off significantly since the beginning of the year — something I did not expect. When it originally took off, I was kind of like, well, maybe it’s just a couple months of oddity, and it is not, it is something that’s just viral.”
Wilt was hired at their June 17, 2025 council meeting and began her work in Windom the following month.
