Windom Invitational
Windom, Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central took part in the Windom Invitational Tuesday at Windom Area High School.
The Eagle boys finished second in the team standings with 103 points. WWG/RRC was third with 79 and MLAC was fifth with 44. Murray County Central won the boys team title.
For the girls, WWG/RRC placed second with 105 points. Windom was third with 101 and MLAC was fourth with 82. Adrian/Ellsworth won the team title with 108 points.
Windom
Windom’s boys were paced by their distance crew, which captured a pair of individual wins and two relay wins.
Braylen Lyons placed first in the 800 (2:04.18) and Caelen Ralston won the 3,200 (11:07.53) with Graham Miller third (12:38.77).
The 4×400 relay team of Lyons, Elliot Serreyn, Gavin Hetterich and Isaac Bordewyk placed first (3:50.00) while the 4×800 team of Lyons, Ralston, Bordewyk and Nolan Tjentland finished first (8:46.99).
Jeffrey Barrios added a win in the shot put (43-7). Royce Smith was second in the discus (120-2). Tjentland placed second in the 400 (59.18) with Tyson Ysker third (59.33).
For the girls, the throwers led the way. Jenna Harrington won the shot put (30-5½) with Theora Ahnupkana third (28-2). Lilly Meyer added a win in the discus (94-8).
Haidyn Sammons added a win in the 300 hurdles (54.46). Makenzi Meyeraan was second in the 100 hurdles (20.73). Macie Carlson placed second in the 800 (2:51.90).
The team of Meyeraan, Emma Klassen, Macee Duerksen and Sammons won the 4×100 relay (57.33) while the team of Meyeraan, Ava Bordewyk, Sammons and Carlson won the 4×400 relay (4:38.16).
MLAC
The MLAC girls had four individual first-place finishers, with the distance crew leading the way.
Gracie Peters placed first in the 400 (1:03.44). Katie Johnson won the 1,600 (6:14.13). Emily Johnson won the 3,200 (15:31.63) and Abigail Beyer won the 100 hurdles (19.75).
MLAC added a win in the 4×800 relay, as the team of Leah Strom, Hannah Beyer, Katie Johnson and Peters finished with a time of 11:27.45. Galaxie Penner placed second in the 3,200 (16:26.62).
For the boys, Cooper Evers placed second in the 1,600 (5:00.14) with Joseph Torres third (5:00.40). Cameron Meyer placed second in the long jump (17-2½).
The 4×800 relay team of Evers, Ben Falk, Rolando Tema Tema and Torres placed second (9:31.50).
WWG/RRC
WWG/RRC’s girls were led by several runner-up finishers.
Aubree Craine was second in the 100 (14.32) with Mayah Wahl third (14.70). Keileana Embrey was second in the 200 (29.55). Addison Warner took second in the 1,600 (6:19.79). Miranda Mischke placed third in the 800 (2:52.11). Ally Linder was second in the shot put (30-5). Alexis Vang took second in the discus (82-6) with Paige Wondercheck third (73-7). Craine took third in the long jummp (12-8½). The Chargers also placed second in the 4×100 (59.37), 4×200 (2:04.59) and 4×800 (12:07.64) relays.
For the boys, Bowen Hesse captured first place in the 110 hurdles (16.13) and second in the 300 hurdles (47.02). Grant Binnebose took third in the 200 (25.30). Drystan Larson was third in the long jump (15-10). The Charger team of Binnebose, Jordan Therkilsen, Hesse and Adrian Yang captured first in the 4×100 relay (48.25).
