A dominant offensive performance carried the day for the Windom baseball team Tuesday, as the Eagles picked up their fifth straight win with a 16-4 victory at Pipestone.
The Eagles slugged out 10 hits, including five extra-base hits, and drew nine walks in the game.
Windom raced to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first. Soren Nielsen hit an RBI double and later scored on the back end of a double steal. Joe Walinga hit a sacrifice fly, Ben Ludewig hit an RBI single and Hayden Tietz added a two-run single.
Windom added a pair of runs on wild pitches in the second to take an 8-0 lead.
In the third, Jackson Joyce hit an RBI single, Stevie Meyer added an RBI double, Walinga drew a bases-loaded walk, Matt Redman plated a run on an error, Tietz hit an RBI double and Joyce added an RBI double. Windom added two runs on wild pitches for a 16-3 lead.
Tietz finished with four hits and three RBI in the win. Joyce added a pair of hits.
Nielsen picked up the pitching win, working the first three innings. He allowed three runs on five hits, walked one and struck out five.
