Rebuilding efforts for Kastle Kingdom have continued in recent months as organizers pursue grant funding, develop fundraising plans and prepare to share more detailed design concepts with the public later this summer.
Stephanie Peterson, a board member with Friends of Windom Parks, said the city of Windom and the nonprofit have both applied for grants for the new playground.
She said the funding requests cover major project costs, including playground equipment and the poured-in-place surface, and leaders should have a clearer picture of next steps once grant and fundraising totals are known.
