As vacations go, the trip of 2026 is one that Denny and Karon Schipper of Windom won’t ever forget.
It was supposed to be just another quiet vacation with family and friends. And, it started out that way — until they started seeing choppers with machine guns, smoke-filled skies and heard the sound of exploding bombs.
Little did they know, the Schippers’ trip coincided with nearby chaos that ultimately became a lead story on newscasts around the world.
