An 11-1 run in the second half propelled Red Rock Central into the lead and the Falcons made it hold up Thursday, defeating Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda 73-65 in the Section 3A Playoffs at Lamberton.
RRC used a 14-4 run to end the first half to take a six-point lead. HLOF trimmed the deficit to one early in the second half before the Falcons went on their 11-1 run, taking control of the game for good.
The Falcons shot 46% from the field for the game, including 56% on two-point attempts. RRC also outscored HLOF 16-7 from the free throw line.
Henry Stavnes led the way for RRC, finishing with 41 points, including 12-of-16 from the line. Finn Batalden added 18 points in the win.
