The Windom Eagle boys basketball team closed out the regular season in strong fashion Saturday afternoon, steadily pulling away for an 83-65 win over Cedar Mountain at Morgan.
The Eagles started to pull away late in the first half, turning a two-point lead halfway through the opening half into a 10-point halftime advantage.
The Eagles then started the second half with a 10-3 run, pushing the lead to 17 points and maintaining an advantage the rest of the game.
Windom shot 48% from the field and hit 12 three-pointers in the victory.
Elliot Serreyn paced the Eagles with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Jackson Joyce scored 20 points and Henry Visker added 10 in the win.
HLOF 30-39 = 69
MLAC 29-27 = 56
A rough start to the second half doomed Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey Friday, as the Wolverines fell 69-56 to Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda in Mt. Lake.
The Wolverines trailed by just one point at halftime, but HLOF started the second half with a 15-2 run to take command of the game for good.
The Wolverines were held to 29% shooting for the game and made just seven two-point field goals in the contest.
Aidan Olson led MLAC with 17 points. Micah Fast scored 13 and Jordan Khamkhaykeo added 12 points.
RTR 35-49 = 84
RRC 32-15 = 47
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton dominated the second half and scorched the nets Friday night, rolling to an 84-47 win over Red Rock Central in Lamberton.
The Knights led by just three at halftime, but outscored RRC 49-15 in the second half. RTR shot a sizzling 68% from the field for the game, including 81% on two-point field goals. That led to a dominant 52-24 edge in the paint.
Henry Stavnes led RRC with 28 points in the loss. Abe Stavnes finished with 10 points.
