Springfield was red hot from three-point range, particularly in the second half, which propelled the Tigers to an 90-84 victory over the Windom girls basketball team Tuesday at Windom.
The Eagles held a 13-point lead at halftime before Springfield mounted a wild, three-pointer-fueled rally. However, the Eagles were able to reassert the lead and led by eight with under two minutes to play before Springfield hit a basket and a pair of three-pointers, including the game-tying trey with eight seconds left on the clock. That sent the game to overtime, tied at 73.
In overtime, the Eagles took a quick lead, but a pair of Springfield three-pointers gave the Tigers the lead for good.
Haidyn Sammons led the Eagles with 29 points. Alivia Letcher scored 21, Brita Tjentland added 12 and Anja Nielsen scored 11 in the loss.
