Tigers 54, Cobras 11
A strong Marshall squad build a commanding lead Saturday and cruised to a 54-11 win over Windom/Mt. Lake/Butterfield-Odin in the Section 3AA team wrestling semifinals, held in Fairmont.
The Tigers built a commanding 33-0 lead by winning the first seven weight classes with a fall, four technical falls, a major decision and a decision.
The Cobras picked up their only wins of the dual in back-to-back fashion. At 152 pounds, Elliot Xayavong rallied from an early deficit to record a fall at the 4:10 mark of the match.
Then, at 160 pounds, Kameron Koerner was in total control, capturing a 19-1 technical fall victory.
Marshall closed out the match with three falls and a decision.
The Cobras will take part in the Section 3AA Individual Tournament, which takes place Friday and Saturday at Hutchinson High School.
Two rounds of action will be held on Friday, beginning at 5 p.m. Wrestlebacks and semifinals will begin Saturday at 11 a.m.
