The Windom Area boys hockey team closed out the regular season strong Friday night, capturing a 4-2 victory over Morris-Benson Area at the Windom Arena.
The Eagles shook off an early 1-0 deficit with three straight goals to take the lead, then held off a late surge by the Storm in the third period to seal the win.
A power play goal from Andrei Rivera with 3:02 left in the first tied the game at 1-1.
The Eagles then took a 2-1 lead early in the second period as Weston Murray scooped up a rebound in front of the net and shoveled a shot home.
The Eagles then pushed the lead to 3-1 at the 7:02 mark of the third period, when Jessy Gentry scored off assists from Murray and Nash Dietz.
The Storm scored with 3:28 left in regulation to pull within 3-2. But after the Storm pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, the Eagles sealed the win as Ayden Endreson scored an empty net goal.
Both teams finished the game with 38 shots on goal. Kole Espenson finished with 36 saves in the win.
