A late rally couldn’t overcome slow starts in both halves for the Windom girls basketball team Friday, as the Eagles fell 78-69 to Jackson County Central in Jackson.
JCC started the game with an 11-2 run and stretched the lead to 13 points by halftime. JCC then opened the second half by building a 22-point lead.
The Eagles mounted a comeback, cutting the deficit to four points before JCC pulled away late to seal the game.
Haidyn Sammons led the Eagles with 23 points. Alivia Letcher scored 21 and Brita Tjentland added 11 in the loss.

RTR 23-23 = 46
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey took control in the first half and led the rest of the way Friday, defeating Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 49-46 in Tyler.
MLAC took the lead with a 5-0 run early in the first half and kept the lead the rest of the way, but never led by more than nine points. RTR cut the deficit to three points several times in the second half, but the Wolverines answered each Knight score with a basket.
Mikaya Schroeder led the Wolverines with 17 points. Julia Brinkman added 11 points in the win.

Adrian-Ellsworth dominated on defense Friday, cruising to a 72-13 victory over Red Rock Central at Adrian.
The Dragons held the Falcons to five field goals in the game, outscoring RRC 35-0 off of turnovers and 40-0 in the paint.
The Dragons also held a commanding 49-21 edge on the glass and forced 29 Falcon turnovers.
Celia Vogel led RRC with six points in the loss.

RRC 09-12 = 21
Hills-Beaver Creek held RRC to 16% shooting from the field Saturday, rolling to a 65-21 win over the Falcons at Lamberton.
The Patriots held RRC to seven field goals in the win, and RRC struggled from the free throw line, going 4-of-15 for the game.
Paige Wondercheck led RRC with nine points.
