The Windom boys basketball team struggled at the start of both halves Friday night, dropping an 81-59 decision to Jackson County Central in Jackson.
JCC started the game with a 17-0 run, but the Eagles battled back, cutting the deficit to seven at 30-23. However, JCC closed the half with an 11-4 run.
JCC then started the second half strong with a 22-7 run, pushing the lead up to 30 points.
Elliot Serreyn led the Eagles with 21 points. Jackson Joyce added 20 points in the loss.
HBC 49-32 = 81
RRC 33-23 = 56
A rally late in the first half wasn’t enough, as Red Rock Central dropped an 81-56 decision to Hills-Beaver Creek Friday in Lamberton.
HBC raced to an early 22-point lead before the Falcons were able to trim the deficit to 16 by halftime. But the Patriots hot shooting continued in the second half, as HBC finished shooting 52% from the field for the game, outscoring the Falcons 50-18 in the paint.
Henry Stavnes led the Falcons with 18 points. Finn Batalden and Jake Erickson each added 10 points.
MLAC 34-33 = 67
Edgerton 52-26 = 78
A rough end to the first half proved too much for Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey to overcome Friday, as the Wolverines fell 78-67 at Edgerton.
The Dutchmen closed the first half with a 25-12 run, establishing an 18-point lead.
MLAC spent the second half whittling away at the deficit, pulling to within two points on three different occasions before Edgerton closed the game with a final run.
Maxton Fast and Aidan Olson each scored 21 points in the loss for the Wolverines. Micah Fast added 12 points.
