A second-period burst propelled La Crescent-Hokah to a commanding lead Thursday, as the Lancers defeated the Windom Area boys hockey team 8-3 in a game played at Austin.
LCH scored five times in the second period and netted three power play goals in the game.
Trailing 4-0 in the second, the Eagles got on the board with a goal from Nash Dietz. Weston Murray added a goal later in the period, as the Eagles trailed 6-2 after two periods.
Murray added a second goal halfway through the third period for the Eagles’ final goal of the game.
Windom Area outshot LCH 43-36 for the contest. Kole Espenson finished with 28 saves in the loss.

Fairmont’s offense battered the Windom Area girls hockey team Thursday, as the Cardinals rolled to a 6-0 victory at Fairmont.
The Cardinals outshot the Eagles 28-2 in the opening period, then 33-8 in the second, as Fairmont did all its offensive damage over the first two periods. Fairmont outshot the Eagles 76-18 for the game.
Fiona Robillard finished with 70 saves in the loss.
