Fairmont’s hot shooting and stingy defense stifled the Windom Eagle girls basketball team Tuesday night, as the Cardinals rolled to an 88-57 victory at Windom.
Fairmont shot a sizzling 52% from the field for the game and doubled the Eagles’ output from three-point range for the game.
The Eagles were held to 36% shooting for the game and were outscored 27-13 in transition.
Haidyn Sammons led the Eagles with 18 points in the loss. Alivia Letcher added 15 points.

WWG 21-30 = 51
A late rally helped propel Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a 51-49 victory over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey Tuesday in Westbrook.
MLAC led by four at halftime, but WWG attacked the basket in the second half, going 13-of-16 from the free throw line in the half. That helped the Chargers take the lead. A basket by Leah Carter with just over a minute to play gave WWG a four-point lead.
MLAC cut the deficit to two on a pair of Julia Brinkman free throws, but the Wolverines misfired on a chance to potentially tie the game at the buzzer.
Mikaya Schroeder led MLAC with 19 points. Brinkman scored 16 in the loss.

SWC 34-25 = 59
Red Rock Central had a rough night from the field Tuesday, as Southwest Christian rolled to a 59-20 victory over the Falcons in Edgerton.
RRC was held to two field goals in the first half and had just seven field goals for the game. SWC held a 34-5 lead at halftime before closing out the win.
Celia Vogel, Kendra Schroeder, Lily Batalden and Paige Wondercheck each had three points to lead the Falcons.
