All Cottonwood County offices and the courthouse will be closing at noon today due to the incoming weather.
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services offices also will be closing at noon today due to the weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning, including Cottonwood County, effective from noon today until 6 p.m.
Conditions are expected to worsen quickly over the upcoming 1-2 hours with white-out visibility possible. Conditions may also worsen across areas within the winter weather advisory, but with less snow on the ground, visibility drops may be less frequent. Winds will decrease quickly after 6pm, which should help improve conditions quickly from west to east.
