Cottonwood County taxpayers will see an increase in their taxes for 2026.
At Tuesday’s meeting, Cottonwood County Commissioners approved the certified levy for 2026 at $14,520,653.
That is an increase of $949,950 from a year ago, marking a 7% increase to the final levy.
County Auditor/Treasurer Carolyn Rempel added that the county has a healthy long-term balance and that a 7% increase will help cover rising costs for 2026.
The board also approved the final budget, which set total revenues and expenditures at $31,365,134.
