The City of Windom Street Department has notified the Citizen that the city is declaring a snow emergency for overnight tonight.
The snow emergency goes into effect at midnight. All vehicles must be removed from streets and alleys to allow for curb to curb plowing. Vehicles left on streets or alleys may be ticketed and/or towed.
The city has designated five areas people can temporarily park vehicles during a snow emergency. Those lots are:
- City Hall lot (Fifth Avenue between Ninth and 10th streets)
- Johnson Hardware lot (alley off Ninth Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues)
- ExpressWay lot (Ninth Street between Highway 60-71 and Third Avenue)
- Evangelical Free Church lot (Fourth Avenue between 10th and 11th streets)
- Westgor lot (11th Street between Third and Fourth avenues)
Vehicles parked in designated lots can return to their regular locations after streets are plowed and windrows are cleared to the curb.
