Jackson County Central kept the Windom Eagles scrambling Thursday night, capitalizing on offensive opportunities to claim a 3-0 win over the Eagles in the Section 3AA South championship match at Springfield.
The Huskies were able to keep the Eagles out of system for a good portion of the match, forcing Windom into giving up free balls or preventing strong attacks.
JCC was able to jump to an early lead in the opening set, then surged after the Eagles held a lead after the mid-point of the set to win 25-20.
Set two was tight throughout, but JCC was able to pull away for the final four points, claiming a 25-21 win.
The Eagles held the early lead in the third set, but JCC was able to rally, eventually overtaking the Eagles for a 25-21 win.
Ember Struck was 11-of-12 serving with two aces. Ali Lund had two aces on 11-of-13 serving.
Struck led the Eagles with six kills in the loss. Addison Colbert, Sadie Tjentland and Adison Hogan had five kills each. Lund, Tjentland and Struck each had three solo blocks.
Lund finished with 13 set assists. Haidyn Sammons had a team-high 15 digs.
