The autumnal equinox began on Sept. 22. Since then, many area residents began the transition to autumn.
Typically, autumn brings cooler weather, the change and falling of leaves and, of course, the harvest. However, until just lately, cool temperatures gave way to heat, making it one of the warmest falls on record.
