The City of Windom’s municipal telecommunications department has confirmed the restoration of Next Generation 911 (NG911) service following an unexpected outage on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a release from Windomnet officials, the outage temporarily disrupted NG911 connectivity across the system. Crews worked closely with network partners and emergency service providers to identify the cause and restore service.
One of the key NG911 network elements was restored late Tuesday evening and service was confirmed fully operational at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday after successful test calls to the Cottonwood County Law Enforcement Center.
“911 connectivity is critical to the safety of our customers and the community, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of residents while service was being restored,” the department noted.
Customers who continue to experience issues with telephone or 911 services are encouraged to contact Windomnet Support at 507-832-8000 or by email at support@windomnet.com.
