TUESDAY CROSS COUNTRY: Eagle boys third at Adrian

Dragon Invite

The Windom Eagle boys cross country team took third and the girls ran with an incomplete squad at Tuesday’s Dragon Invitational at Adrian.

The Eagle boys, who were without two of their top runners for the meet, scored 75 points. Sioux Falls Lincoln won the meet with 41 points.

Sioux Falls Lincoln also won the girls meet with 27 points.

Windom ran without top runners Bryce Green and Braylen Lyons at the meet.

The Eagles were led by the trio of Nolan Tjentland, Isaac Bordewyk and Caelen Ralston, who crossed the finish line arm-in-arm. Officially, Tjentland finished 12th (18:37.07), followed by Bordewyk in 13th (18:37.19) and Ralston in 14th (18:37.65). Kieran Anderson was 20th (19:12) and Liam Carroll was 21st (19:20).

Macie Carlson led the Eagle girls, placing 32nd (23:11). She was followed by Penelope Roberts in 35th (23:15), Jesselle Sosa in 51st (24:10) and Jocelyn Frank in 53rd (24:25).

Buc Invite

Mt. Lake Area swept the team titles at the Buc Invitational Tuesday, held at Elmore.

The Wolverine girls finished with 35 team points. Jackson County Central was second with 50 points.

The MLA boys won the meet with 34 points. St. James took second with 64 points.

Individually, the Wolverine girls had four top-10 finishers, led by individual champion Katie Johnson with a time of 20:05. Julia Brinkman finished sixth (20:56), followed by Hannah Beyer in seventh (21:48), Hannah Savage in ninth (22:30) and Celia Vogel in 12th (23:22).

The Wolverine boys also had four top-10 finishers and also had the individual champion, as Cooper Evers finished first with a career-best time of 16:45. Joseph Torres was fourth (17:45), followed by Gideon Winger in seventh (18:45), Jacob Lopez in 10th (19:16) and Rolando Tema Tema in 12th (19:38).
