The Windom Eagle volleyball team fought off challenges late in each set Thursday night, holding off Worthington for a 3-0 sweep at Worthington.
The Eagles led 22-12 and 24-15 in the opening set, but Worthington rallied late, cutting the Eagle lead to 24-21 before Windom was able to close out the set.
Set two was back and forth throughout, with the Eagles pulling away late to seal a 25-23 win. Windom then built a lead in set three before holding off a late surge, winning 25-20.
Kenzi Meyeraan led the Eagles at the net with 11 kills. Addison Colbert added nine kills and Ember Struck had seven.
Anja Nielsen went 13-of-15 serving with two aces. Colbert was 10-of-11 with two aces.
Ali Lund had a team-high 17 set assists. Haidyn Sammons finished with 17 digs.

HLOF 16-25-25-25 = 3
Red Rock Central couldn’t maintain its early momentum Thursday, dropping a 3-1 decision to Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda at Okabena.
The Falcons captured the first set 25-16, but HLOF battled back, winning 25-14 in set two, then capturing the following two sets in convincing fashion.
Amelia Ubl went 22-of-23 serving with five aces. Natasha Erickson was 15-of-17 with an ace.
Ally Linder and Abby Evans each had seven kills.
Erickson finished with 20 set assists. Ubl had a team-high 16 digs.

MLAC 13-13-11 = 0
Westbrook-Walnut Grove was in control from the start Thursday, cruising to a 3-0 sweep over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey in Mt. Lake.
WWG used a strong service game to keep the Wolverine offense off-balance, holding the Wolverines to 10 kills for the match.
Kylie Phommachan had a team-high four kills. Phithsada Phoumivong had two ace serves and four set assists. Ellamae Peters had 13 digs.
