At a special meeting Tuesday, the Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners set the preliminary levy for 2026.
The preliminary levy for the county would result in a 7% increase from 2025.
The final budget will be approved in December. The final levy increase cannot be greater than what the county set the preliminary levy at.
