The State of Minnesota has filed a complaint against 38-year-old Windom resident Tyler Lee Henning. Henning is charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance.
Henning, is accused of possessing more than 0.25 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The alleged offense occurred on or about August 29, 2025.
According to the statement of probable cause, a Cottonwood County sheriff’s deputy, a Windom police officer and two members of the probation office arrived at a rural residence in Cottonwood County. Upon arrival, one of the probation agents reported seeing Henning exit a vehicle and admitted to using methamphetamine, stating that he had some in his car. A search of the vehicle revealed a black/blue bag containing a white bag with a crystal-like substance and two pipes. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing a total of 4.48 grams.
The felony has a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
