The Windom Eagle volleyball team rebounded from a rough weekend tournament by defeating Pipestone 3-1 in Big South Conference action at Windom.
The Eagles pulled away late to win the opening set, but Pipestone jumped to a commanding lead on its way to winning the second set.
The Eagles regrouped in the third set behind strong passing and balance at the net, then put the match away in set four by dialing up pressure from the service line.
Anja Nielsen went 12-of-13 serving with three aces in the win. Haidyn Sammons was 25-of-25 with two aces.
Ember Struck led the Eagles at the net with 11 kills. Ali Lund and Kenzi Meyeraan each added seven kills.
Nielsen had a team-high 19 set assists. Sammons finished with 31 digs.

Red Rock Central picked up its first victory of the season Tuesday night, holding off Hills-Beaver Creek 3-1 in Lamberton.
Each set was tight, with the Falcons pulling away late to win the first and third sets before closing out the match in a close fourth set.
Abby Evans went 20-of-20 serving with two aces. Natasha Erickson was 18-of-19 serving with an ace.
At the net, Ally Linder had a team-high 10 kills. Shylin Hagert added nine kills and six blocks.
Erickson had 21 set assists. Amelia Ubl had a team-high 16 digs.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton was able to pick up a 3-0 sweep Tuesday over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey in Tyler.
The state-ranked Knights were able to keep the Wolverine offense from getting established, with the Wolverines recording only a handful of kills in the match.
Danika Gohr and Kylie Phommachan each had two kills to lead MLAC.
Phithsada Phoumivong was 13-of-13 serving. Ellamae Peters was 11-of-11 serving.
Ashlyn Pfeiffer had two solo blocks. Peters finished with a team-best 14 digs.
