Lions Meet
The Mt. Lake Area girls cross country team placed ninth and the boys were 13th at the annual Lions Meet, held Tuesday at Baylor Park in Norwood-Young America.
MLA’s girls scored 220 points. St. Peter ran away with the team title, finishing with 49 points.
For the boys, MLA scored 325 points. Rockford won the meet with 80 points.
The Wolverine girls were led by Katie Johnson, who turned in a time of 19:44 to finish in ninth place. She was followed by Julia Brinkman in 54th (22:11), Emily Johnson in 55th (22:11), Hannah Savage in 60th (22:28) and Hannah Beyer in 62nd (22:32).
The Wolverine boys were led by Cooper Evers, who finished in 20th place with a time of 17:20. He was followed by Joseph Torres in 35th (17:49), Gideon Winger in 70th (18:50), Jacob Lopez in 91st (19:24) and Ben Falk in 119th (20:21).
