CROSS COUNTRY: Eagle boys, Wolverine girls win at Mt. Lake

The Windom boys and Mt. Lake Area girls stood tall Friday morning, running away with the titles at the Paul Metcalf Invitational, held at the Mt. Lake Golf Course.

In the boys race, the Eagles finished with 48 points. Eagle Ridge Academy took second with 81 points. MLA was sixth with 130.

For the girls, MLA finished first with 56 points. Eagle Ridge Academy was second with 61 points. Windom ran with an incomplete team.

The Windom boys finished with three runners in the top 10 and five in the top 20, as Windom used a dominant pack to capture the team win.

Bryce Green led the Eagles, finishing fourth, individually, with a time of 17:31. He was followed closely by Braylen Lyons in ninth (17:54), Nolan Tjentland in 10th (18:11), Isaac Bordewyk in 11th (18:12) and Caelen Ralston in 20th (19:04).

The Eagle girls were led by Macie Carlson with a 29th-place time of 24:18. She was followed by Penelope Roberts in 36th (25:42), Jesselle Sosa in 40th (26:34) and Jocelyn Frank in 67th (29:29).

MLA

MLA’s girls were led by Katie Johnson, who finished second, individually, with a time of 20:43. She was followed by Emily Johnson in 15th (23:04), Julia Brinkman in 17th (23:22), Celia Vogel in 23rd (23:43) and Hannah Beyer in 26th (24:03).

The Wolverine boys were led by Cooper Evers, who captured runner-up honors with a time of 17:17. Joseph Torres added a 14th-place finish (18:41), followed by Gideon Winger in 31st (20:09), Braiden Pack in 51st (21:41) and Ben Falk in 54th (22:06).
