The Windom Fire Department will be receiving a total of $7,500 in grants, following acceptance at last week’s city council meeting.
Windom Fire Chief Ben Derickson reported he had applied for a grant through Federated Rural Electric to help buy turn-out gear for new members.
Derickson told the council he was notified recently the department had received three $2,500 donations from Federated, Basin Electric and Cobank.
As required by state statute, Derickson presented three resolutions to the Windom City Council during the July 15 meeting that recognized the monetary gifts. The council approved all three resolutions.
