Windom’s offense scored in every inning and Pirate pitcher Josh Garrison tossed a dazzling complete-game shutout as the Pirates rolled to a 20-0 victory in a non-league game at Wabasso Wednesday night.
Garrison held the Jaxx to four hits without a walk and struck out three, needing just 64 pitches to get through seven innings of work.
Offensively, the Pirates got on the board in the first inning on a two-run Quintin Tietz double.
The Pirates added four runs in the second. Garrison hit a sacrifice fly, Jake Tauer and Keenan Wenzel had RBI singles and Alex Fink hit an RBI double.
Kobe Lovell added an RBI single in the third for a 7-0 lead.
Fink and Drew Rothenberger had RBI sacrifice flies in the fourth. In the fifth, Tauer had a sacrifice fly and Wenzel hit an RBI single.
The Pirates added a Brett Willaby RBI single in the sixth and a run-scoring error.
Then, in the seventh, Nick Kulseth hit an RBI single, Rothenberger belted a two-run home run and Willaby later added a three-run home run.
Lovell and Willaby each had four hits in the win. Tietz and Garrison had three hits each.
