State Class A Meet
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey freshman Nevaeh Ott will go into the second day of the Class A State Tournament in contention, following Tuesday’s opening round at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.
Ott shot a 14-over-par score of 86 for the first 18 holes, putting her in a three-way tie for ninth place, individually. A total of 23 players were within 10 strokes of the lead after the first day of play.
Junior Wolverine teammate Reagan Pedersen shot an opening-day score of 115, which put her in a tie for 77th place.
The individual leader after the opening day was Lindsey Lund of Dawson-Boyd, who shot an opening-day score of 78.
Dawson-Boyd held a 10-stroke lead in the girls team competition, shooting a 338. Section 3A champion Murray County Central was in fourth place. Section 2A champion Sleepy Eye United was in sixth place.
