The Island Park log cabin is preparing for a move to a new home at Fort Belmont in Jackson.
At last week’s meeting, the Windom City Council approved classifying the cabin as ‘surplus.’ That will allow the city to offer the cabin to Fort Belmont for $1.
In March, the city approved providing up to $2,500 toward a potential move, which would have been the demolition cost.
Fort Belmont has asked the city to have until Aug. 1 to move the cabin.
