Beer and wine will soon be available to spectators attending Windom Pirates amateur baseball games, as well as Windom Legion Post 206 baseball games.
At last week’s meeting, the Windom City Council approved a liquor license for the Windom Baseball Association, pending state inspection — opening the door for beer and wine to be sold at the Island Park concession stand during baseball games.
Representatives of the Windom Baseball Association noted that once the state inspection is approved, beer and wine would be served only at Pirates games and Legion games.
When high school games are played at Island Park, alcoholic beverages would be in a locked refrigerator and covered, as alcohol cannot be displayed at a high school event.
