City preps for street repair, berm work in ’25

It goes without saying that the past year has been filled with challenges.

Windom went through a 2024 that started dry, added moisture through a March blizzard and a June flood that will have ramifications with the city for years to come. This was followed by another dry spell that took the area through an early harvest season.

The topics for this article come from a combination of sources — news stories in the Citizen, city council meeting discussions, an interview with Mayor Hilary Mathis and lots of quick phone calls to Steve Nasby over the past few months. With that out of the way, here we go.
