The Windom Eagle baseball team picked up a pair of victories Friday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader from Blue Earth Area 11-0 and 14-3 at Blue Earth.
In the opener, Eagle pitcher Jackson Joyce held the Bucs to one hit and one walk while striking out seven BEA hitters.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard in the second inning when Soren Nielsen reached on an error, plating a run.
In the third, back-to-back RBI doubles from Hayden Tietz and Stevie Meyer made the score 3-0.
Windom then tacked on five runs in the fourth. Quintin Tietz hit an RBI single. Hayden Tietz and Joe Walinga followed with two-run singles.
Windom put the game away in the fifth, scoring when Jackson Anderson reached on an error. Joyce followed with an RBI single and Quintin Tietz scored on a wild pitch.
Quintin Tietz and Hayden Tietz each had two hits in the win.
In the nightcap, the Eagles plated multiple runs in each of their trips to the plate.
In the nightcap, BEA jumped to a 2-0 lead early, but the Eagles answered in the bottom of the first. Two runs scored when Hayden Tietz reached on an error. Charles Erickson hit an RBI sacrifice fly and Matthew Voehl plated a run on a fielder’s choice.
In the second, Hayden Tietz hit an RBI sacrifice fly. Meyer and Erickson followed with RBI doubles to take a 7-2 lead.
Windom pushed the lead to 10-2 in the third. Joyce hit an RBI sacrifice fly and Joe Walinga hit a two-run single.
Windom put the game away with a four-run fourth. Joyce hit a sacrifice fly, Hayden Tietz had an RBI single and two runs scored on an error.
Quintin Tietz and Hayden Tietz each had two hits in the win.
Joe Walinga picked up the pitching win, scattering five hits and two walks while fanning eight.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey dropped both halves of a doubleheader against Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Saturday in Mt. Lake, falling 5-4 in the opener and 10-0 in the nightcap.
In the opener, the Wolverines rallied to within a run in the final inning. But with the potential tying run in scoring position, a pop-out ended the game.
The Wolverines got on the board in the second when Cooper Wenner scored on a wild pitch.
MLAC tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth on a Heber Morales RBI double.
RTR scored twice in the top of the fifth, but the Wolverines closed to within 4-3 when Landon Simon scored on a wild pitch.
Then, trailing 5-3 in the seventh, Ram Vasquez hit an RBI double with two outs, pulling MLAC to within 5-4 before a pop-out ended the game.
Tanner Schultz, Wenner and Vasquez each had two hits in the loss.
Khalid Fontanez took the pitching loss, allowing six hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out three.
In the nightcap, the Wolverines weren’t able to make the most of scoring chances early, and RTR plated three runs each in three straight innings to seal a 10-0 win.
The Wolverines had nine hits and drew two walks in the game, but were unable to manufacture runs.
Meanwhile, RTR hit five doubles, which led to big innings late in the game. After scoring in the first, RTR closed out the game with three runs in each of the last three innings.
Tanner Schultz, Simon and Quin Vidana each had two hits in the loss.
Simon took the pitching loss, allowing eight hits and a walk in five innings. He struck out six.

Red Rock Central did early damage and made it stand Friday, defeating Yellow Medicine East 5-0 in Granite Falls.
The Falcons got out to a fast start, scoring three times in the top of the first. Carter Therkilsen scored on a balk, Jake Erickson hit an RBI single and later scored on an errant throw.
RRC/WWG added two runs on wild pitches in the second inning.
That was all the support Austin Imker would need on the mound. Imker held the Sting to one hit over 6-1/3 innings, walking three and striking out 11.
