Miscues and walks piled up for the Windom Eagle baseball team Tuesday, as the Eagles dropped a 14-2 decision to Luverne at Island Park.
The Eagle defense committed six errors in the game. Five came in the first three innings, helping lead to four early Cardinal runs.
The extra outs took a toll on Windom’s pitch count and control later in the contest, though. Luverne drew eight walks, including four bases-loaded walks in a 10-run fourth inning.
Meanwhile, Windom was held without a hit until the bottom of the fifth inning. Quintin Tietz beat out an infield single to break up the no-hitter. Hayden Tietz then hit an RBI double and scored on a Stevie Meyer RBI single.
Charles Erickson took the pitching loss, allowing four hits and five walks in three-plus innings of work.

RRC/WWG 000 000 0 = 0-3-2
Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove couldn’t get the offense going Tuesday, dropping a 5-0 decision to Adrian-Ellsworth at Lamberton.
The Dragons broke up the shutout in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. AE added a two-run single in the sixth, then scored on a squeeze bunt and a throwing error in the seventh.
RRC/WWG was held in check offensively, getting only three runners into scoring position in the game. The Falcons loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth inning, but three consecutive strikeouts ended the threat.
Hudsen Jenniges had two of the three Falcon hits in the loss. He also took the pitching loss, allowing three runs on three hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out 10.
