Cardinal Relays
Windom and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central each took part in the Cardinal Relays Tuesday in Luverne.
Windom’s boys finished fourth with 90 points. WWG/RRC was sixth with 44 points. Redwood Valley won the team title with 159.
The WWG/RRC girls were sixth with 46 points. Windom was eighth with 35 points. Luverne won the team title with 234 points.
Windom’s boys were led by double-event winner Job Ogeka, who placed first in the long jump (20-10¼) and triple jump (42-6).
Elliot Serreyn was second in the high jump (5-10). Hyatt Hansen placed third in the 400 (54.89).
Windom’s girls were led by third-place finishes from Kenzi Meyeraan in the 400 (1:08.00) and Macie Carlson in the 1,600 (6:02.13).
WWG/RRC’s boys were led by Bowen Hesse, who was first in the 110 hurdles (16.69). Adrian Yang added a win in the pole vault (9-6).
The Charger girls were led by Miranda Mischke, who placed second in the high jump (4-8). Evelyn Rentschler added a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (18.94).
John Weir Invite
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey’s boys and girls each placed second at Tuesday’s John Weir Invitational, held at Munson Field in Mt. Lake.
The Wolverine boys finished with 146 points. River Valley won the meet with 279 points.
The MLAC girls scored 128 points. River Valley won the meet with 240 points.
First-place finishers for the MLAC boys included Ethan Schroeder in the 400 (54.34), Cooper Evers in the 800 (2:11.81) and Cameron Meyer in the 300 hurdles (46.87). Meyer was second in the high jump (5-6) and long jump (17-7). Schroeder took second in the triple jump (36-4). Eli Hall was second in the shot put (39-10). Joseph Torres was second in the 1,600 (5:14.38).
Mikaya Schroeder had the MLAC girls’ lone victory in the meet, winning the high jump (4-4).
Brie Anacker took second in the shot put (26-5½) and discus (66-2). Abigail Beyer was second in the long jump (12-4). Katie Johnson took second in the 1,600 (6:09.74).
SJM Invite
Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin’s boys and girls each placed seventh in the standings at the SJM Invite, held Tuesday in St. James.
The Maverick boys finished with 35 points. Minnesota Valley Lutheran/New Ulm Cathedral won the meet with 130 points. The MCWBO girls scored 32 points. Tri-City United won the meet with 147 points.
The Maverick boys were led by Barret Scholl, who placed third in the shot put (38-8½). Berent Kosbab placed third in the 100 (11.88).
Evelyn Christenson led the Maverick girls, taking third in the 1,600 (5:59.90). Ava Thate was fourth in the 100 (14.09).
