Daniel Moua, a 21-year-old Windom resident, is facing a felony charge for threats of violence- reckless disregard risk and a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct after an incident that occurred between February 17 and 18.
According to the statement of probable cause, on, or about February 18 at 12:49 a.m. Windom police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Great Bend Boulevard on a harassment and driving complaint.
When officers arrived and met with the reporting party, he stated that the defendant works with his wife. Moua didn’t show up to work, according to the complaint, and when this happened the reporting party’s wife went to Moua’s house to make contact. When she was there, she received a text message stating ”who cares what you want, show up to my house again and you will be shot.”
Following this incident, Moua went to the reporting party’s house and was flashing his van’s brights into the house, so the police were called.
According to the statement, the officer then made contact with the defendant and he stated that he was being “harassed” by the informant and was concerned for his well-being and the well-being of his girlfriend.
Moua also stated that after she was at the house he did send her a message stating that they would be shot if they came back and that he was concerned because the husband came back to his apartment later and was wanting to fight.
The defendant told the police officer that he did not own any guns and he cannot own any guns due to prior convictions.
The maximum sentence for the felony is five years in jail and a $10,000 fine while the maximum for the misdemeanor is 90-days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
