The deadline to remove unoccupied fish houses from lakes is less than two weeks away.
The DNR reminds ice anglers that the deadline to remove fish houses in the southern two-thirds of the state is 11:59 p.m. on March 3. The deadline for the northern third of the state is March 17 at 11:59 p.m.
The deadline to remove fish houses from Minnesota/Iowa border waters already has passed, while the deadline for Minnesota/South Dakota border waters is March 5.
The DNR also reminds all ice anglers and fish house owners to pick up and properly dispose of any trash near their fish house site.
With forecast temperatures in the 40s for much of next week, many ice anglers are expected to have their fish houses off of area lakes well before the deadline.
