The Windom girls basketball team had its foot on the gas pedal from the opening moments Tuesday and didn’t slow down in a 92-62 victory in the regular-season finale at Springfield.
Springfield briefly held an 8-6 lead in the early stages of the game, but the Eagles ended the half with a 42-17 eruption, outscoring the Tigers 34-0 in transition and 31-8 off of 22 Tiger turnovers in the game.
The Eagles shot 44% from the field and were hot from the outside, hitting 16 three-pointers and shooting 40% from long range.
Anja Nielsen poured in 25 points in the win. Haidyn Sammons added 21 points, Hadley Sammons scored 14, Hannah Dauer had 12 and Adison Hogan scored 11 in the win.
