Gordon “Gordy” Eichner, age 81 of Westbrook, MN passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 7, 2025. Services were held on Sunday, February 16th at Jeffers Methodist Church. Gordon Donald Eichner was born June 27, 1943 to Johnny and Madelyn (Carey) Eichner in Heron Lake. Gordy was baptized and confirmed into the Methodist faith and attended church regularly at Amo United Methodist Church. He graduated from Storden High School in 1961. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and served 22 years in the 1-125 Field Artillery in Windom. On September 7, 1968 he married Christie Lee Boetel and into this union four strong daughters were born: Tracey, Tamara, Tonya and Tiffany. Gordy served his community by joining the Westbrook Lions Club and being a school bus driver which he enjoyed in his later years to keep him “young”. Farming was in Gordy’s blood and he hauled livestock to support his family while farming in the 70s and 80s. Gordy was a social person and enjoyed playing cards, baseball, bowling, polka and country western music, and watching his grandkids’ sporting events.
Gordon is survived by his four daughters and their families: Tracey (Rod) Will of Milford, IA; Tammy (Dwight) Damman of Newton, IA; Tonya Eichner of Tracy, MN; Tiffany (Dan) Warner of Walnut Grove, MN; grandchildren: Jacklyn (Matt) Shea; Dalton Taylor; Chelsey (Kailer) Stevenson; Dustin (Amanda) Taylor; Jennifer (Davin) Wilson; Gregory (Chloe) Will; Brooke; Karson; Arianna, Grace and Elsie; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Audrey (Rick) Kulseth and several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Gordy is preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, and one grandson.
