The Windom girls basketball team found another gear late in the first half Thursday, pulling away from Truman/Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain for an 85-50 win at Granada.
The Eagles started the game with a 15-3 run, then steadily pulled away by the end of the first half, taking a 21-point lead into halftime.
Windom then started the second half with a 13-0 run.
The Eagles battered the Jaguars in transition, outscoring the Jaguars 31-2 in transition and 28-3 off of turnovers for the game.
Haidyn Sammons paced the Eagles with 27 points. Anja Nielsen added 18 points, Hadley Sammons scored 16 and Hannah Dauer added 11 in the win.

In a game that was tight throughout, Murray County Central pulled away in the closing minutes to seal a 41-36 victory over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey Thursday in Mt. Lake.
Neither team held a lead larger than five points for the duration of the game, which saw eight lead changes. The final lead change came in the closing minutes, as MCC ended the game with an 11-5 run over the final five minutes.
Julia Brinkman led the Wolverines with 17 points. Ellamae Peters added eight points in the loss.

HBC 36-32 = 68
Hills-Beaver Creek held Red Rock Central to seven field goals and 15% shooting from the field Thursday, as the Patriots rolled to a 68-16 win over the Falcons at Hills.
The Patriots shot a solid 46% from the field and forced RRC into 22 turnovers in the game.
Paige Wondercheck led the Falcons with nine points in the loss.
