The Windom Area School District will hold a special election on May 13, asking voters to approve a $27.5 million improvement for the district’s fine arts and athletics facilities.
At Monday’s meeting, the Windom Area School Board unanimously approved calling for the special election.
The proposed project would include a multipurpose complex with artificial turf, an eight-lane track and dedicated youth fields, an 800-seat auditorium, dressing rooms and costume storage, an expanded auxiliary gym with gymnastics spectator space, a remodeled wrestling room and a locker room reconfiguration.
Public hearings in the project will be held at 7 p.m. on March 20, and at 5 p.m. on April 30 and May 7.
