The Windom boys basketball team hung tough early against state-ranked Jackson County Central Tuesday, but a second-half surge lifted the Huskies to an 88-73 victory at Jackson.
The Eagles held the lead much of the first half before JCC rallied late in the half, taking a four-point lead into halftime.
Windom eventually tied the game at 48-48, but JCC went on an 11-1 run to gain the lead for good. The Huskies battered the Eagles in the lane in the game, outscoring Windom 68-22 in the paint in the contest. JCC shot 61% from two-point range and 50% from the field for the game.
Job Ogeka led the Eagles with 15 points. Quintin Tietz scored 13, Charles Erickson had 12 and Elliot Serreyn finished with 11 in the loss.
MLAC 31-35 = 66
Nicollet 34-46 = 80
Nicollet took command in the second half Tuesday, pulling away from Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey for an 80-66 victory at Nicollet.
MLAC led much of the opening half, but Nicollet rallied to take a three-point lead into the break. The Raiders then started the second half strong with a 12-5 run, essentially taking the lead for good.
Aidan Olson led the Wolverines with 22 points in the loss. Landon Strom added 18 points.
