The Windom Area girls hockey team ended the regular season with momentum for the playoffs Saturday, cruising to a 6-0 shutout win over Prairie Centre Area at Windom.
The Eagles held a massive 59-23 edge in shots on goal over the Blue Devils, including 16-2 in the final period.
Windom Area got on the board 3:55 into the game, when Gretta Smith snapped a wrist shot past the PCA goalie for a 1-0 Eagle lead.
Later in the period, Reagan Haugen scored off a quick assist from Addison Schumacher, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
The Eagles stretched the lead to 3-0 halfway through the second, when Haugen slid a backhanded shot past the pad of the Blue Devil goalie.
The Eagles then netted a pair of goals 12 seconds apart. Schumacher slipped the puck past the goalie for a 4-0 lead, then added her second goal moments later, firing a one-timer into the net off a Kennady Dronen pass.
Schumacher capped her first career hat trick early in the third, scoring the final goal of the game.
Fiona Robillard finished with a 23-save shutout in net for the Eagles.
