The Windom girls basketball team fell behind late in the first half, then went ice cold from the field in the second half Friday, dropping an 89-63 decision to Redwood Valley at Redwood Falls.
The Cardinals used an 8-0 run late in the first half to take a seven-point lead into halftime. Redwood then slowly built a commanding lead as the Eagles struggled from the field.
Windom shot just 28% from the field for the game, with the percentage considerably lower in the second half. Meanwhile, Redwood shot 48% from the field.
Haidyn Sammons and Hadley Sammons each scored 21 points in the loss for the Eagles.

HBC 32-34 = 66
Hills-Beaver Creek bombed away from the outside and Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t answer Friday, as the Patriots cruised to a 66-29 win at Hills.
HBC started the game with a 14-2 burst and knocked down nine three-pointers as a team. The Patriots also held a dominant 49-20 edge on the glass in the game.
Ellamae Peters led the Wolverines with nine points. Phithsada Phoumivong added seven points in the loss.
RRC 11-17 = 28
Edgerton 53-22 = 75
Edgerton’s defensive pressure turned into a commanding early lead Friday, as the Dutchmen rolled to a 75-28 win over Red Rock Central at Edgerton.
Edgerton forced 26 Falcon turnovers in the game, cashing those in for 31 points. The Dutchmen also held a dominant 40-2 scoring edge in the paint in the contest.
RRC hit just one two-point basket in the game and shot 21% from the field overall.
Kendra Schroeder led the Falcons with 12 points.
