The Windom Area girls hockey team had chances but couldn’t deliver the knockout blow Thursday night, leading to a 2-2 tie against Worthington at the Windom Arena.
After a scoreless opening period, Worthington got on the board first, scoring 3:40 into the second period. The Trojans’ lead was short-lived, though, as just seven seconds later, Reagan Haugen scored off an assist from Kennady Dronen, tying the game at 1-1.
Late in the second, the Eagles took the lead when Haugen took a feed from Ashlyn Koch and fired a shot into the net.
But the Trojans were able to tie the game with 2:25 left in regulation, as Madilyn Polz scored a power play goal.
In overtime, the Eagles were able to draw a power play, but were not able to score.
Worthington outshot the Eagles 49-37 for the game. Fiona Robillard finished with 47 saves for the Eagles.
