The Windom Area boys hockey team fell behind early and never recovered Thursday, falling 9-1 to Minnesota River at the Windom Arena.
The Bulldogs raced to a 4-0 lead after one period, outshooting the Eagles 21-5 in the opening period.
Windom Area scored its lone goal 1:01 into the second period, as Andrei Rivera scored off an assist from Nick Espenson.
But the Bulldogs scored at the 4:35 mark of the second for a 5-1 lead, then netted four goals in the third period to seal the win.
Minnesota River outshot the Eagles 51-14 for the game. Kole Espenson finished with 42 saves.
